(What You’re Looking for in a Relationship, Researched on various real time couples)

A relationship is a safe place. If you ask my perception of what you looking for in a relationship? It should be a person with whom you feel the safest, meaning you should feel like nobody is judging you.

For example, when you talk about your dreams and your goals, which may look unrealistic to you now, your partner still shows belief in you and gives you the confidence to achieve them, when you share your insecurities with your partner. They make you feel like it is okay to have them and help you in overcoming them. When you feel like there is no hope and you are being skeptical, your partner shows you the bright side and tries to keep you positive.

If you have these qualities in a person and you know that you can talk about absolutely anything without thinking twice, then you can think about a long-term future with this person. A person with above mentioned qualities will be responsible and emotionally available for you.

Look at it in this way, If you face an unexpected difficult situation in your life, who is the first person you would want to share it with? Who is the person who would face it with you without any regrets? If you know the answer, you will realize at this moment that this person is the one who will not judge you for having this situation right now and will try to comfort you as much as possible; if this person goes out of their way to be there with you in this situation then my friend; you have found a gem!!

Now, if you look at this explanation closely, you would realize that it requires a lot of understanding and sacrifices on both parts and to build this kind of trust, you will have to become each other’s friend before you become partners. A friend is the person who keeps you sane at all times, especially when you are losing it. Now I ask you: What you looking for in a relationship? You can tell me here.

Now, the answers to What are you looking for in a relationship, could differ a bit in males and females, according to their wants, needs, and requirements. We are built that way. No two people are the same, and hence, it is normal that people of the opposite sex may have different expectations from their relationships. Let us explore this topic further.

what are you looking for in a relationship?
what are you looking for in a relationship?

Are you looking for something Casual, Something Serious, Long-term, or just a short fling?

Firstly, It is okay whatever your choice is, nobody should have the right to judge you based on your feelings. You are being honest to yourself by admitting your feelings. Now, It is very important to communicate what you want from your partner or what you are looking for in your relationship during that period. It is even more important to understand what you want in the first place? Ask yourself right now, take a pause: what are u looking for in a relationship? What kind of relationship are you looking for? And What do you want out of a relationship answers a lot of questions for you. Go ahead and find these answers.

Once you have the answers, let the other person/ your partner know with honesty. I am listing some of the ways I would communicate my mindset on what are you looking for in a relationship right now.

Firstly, if somebody asks this question, understand that they’re just trying to figure out what to expect and see if you feel the same way as them. It’s a super helpful question to ask and can save both of you a lot of hassle and pain down the road.

Just be real with how you feel. Speak your truth. It’s all about being honest and considerate. If I’m looking for something casual, I’ll say, “I’m into something casual right now. Not really up for anything serious.” If I’m open to a relationship but mostly want something casual, I’ll go with, “I’m not pushing for a relationship, but if it happens, cool. For now, I’m looking for something light and casual with maybe the potential for more.” If I’m looking to date seriously, I’ll say, “I’m looking for something serious, ideally long-term,” and then ask them what type of relationship they are looking for.

You’re not putting pressure on the other person by sharing your feelings. You’re just letting them know where you stand and what do you seek for in a relationship meaning even if it’s casual, communication is key because it’s still a relationship in some form. You’re just speaking your mind, which is saving you a lot of hassle in the future. Isn’t it?

I believe in a mantra I read long ago: YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE, so live your best life and write a good life story, not regrets. This is why I do what makes me happy, and you should, too. Some people like to be in a stable long-term relationship; they like stability because they are emotionally available to invest. Some people may not want a long-term commitment and are not emotionally available at that moment. Some people are just looking for a fling and want physical attachments with a short-term partner, which is one’s choice. Until you communicate your feelings and intentions, you are doing right. Everybody should live for themselves first.

10 things a guy wants in a relationship

( & 10 things men secretly want from you but are too afraid to ask)

I’ve talked to a lot of guys and gals who are really into personal growth about what they want from a partner to make a great relationship. Their answers might surprise you. Find out what men say they want from women and how that’s different from what women think men want. Plus, get some tips for women on how to give men what they want, attract a great guy, and build an awesome relationship.

Respect him – Show him genuine respect by valuing his opinions, listening to what he has to say, and appreciating his efforts. It’s all about making him feel important and valued in the relationship.

Give him some space– Everyone needs a little “me” time. Let him have his space to do his own thing, whether it’s hanging out with friends, diving into hobbies, or just chilling. It shows you trust him and respect his individuality.

Let him be vulnerable–  Encourage him to open up and share his feelings without fear of judgment. Create a safe space where he can be himself, flaws and all. It builds a deeper emotional connection and strengthens your bond.

Assure him you’re in it for the long -term– Make sure he knows you’re committed for the long haul. Talk about your future together, make plans, and show through your actions that you’re dedicated to building a lasting relationship. It gives him the security and confidence to invest fully in the relationship.

Be physically affectionate – Guys want to ‘feel’ love as much as women do. They also crave a warm hug after a long day; they want to rest in your lap when they are stressed out. Talking about physical relationships, women often need guys to understand what they want and are particular about how they want it; similarly, Is it good to know what guys want in bed? It would help if you if you always ask your partner. Asking questions and understanding his likes and dislikes is the key. What guys want sexually is no rocket science, honestly, as most men communicate with clarity on this topic

Accept him for who he is– Love him for all his quirks and flaws. Don’t try to change him; instead, embrace his unique traits and make him feel appreciated for who he truly is. It builds trust and shows you’re in it for the real deal.

Make him feel like a hero–  Boost his confidence by letting him know how much you appreciate his efforts, big or small. Compliment him on things he does well and show your gratitude. Everyone loves to feel needed and admired.

Let him know it’s okay to make mistakes–  No one’s perfect, so remind him that it’s OK to mess up sometimes. Be supportive and understanding when things go wrong. It helps create a space for your relationship to grow.

Be a little playful & Take an interest in his hobbies– Have fun together! Joke around, tease each other lightly, and show genuine interest in his hobbies. With guys it is a misunderstood notion that fun always means what guys want in bed! It could also be watching his favorite sports team or trying out his gaming console, sharing activities he loves strengthens your connection.

Treat him to romantic gestures– We all know that women usually expect a good date from guys, most of the guys like to treat women on dates too, however men don’t express much but trust me they want to be treated with romantic gestures too. Give him small surprises every now and then. For a change, take him out on a date to his favorite restaurant or gaming arena.

What do guys want in a wife?

Of course, every guy is different and has his values. More than anything, what most guys really want is to feel understood, accepted, and appreciated. Most men want to feel like their wives accept them, want them, and are loyal to them.

Husbands want Consistency. It is the opposite of being all over the place. If she’s always changing and unpredictable, it’s tough to know what to expect from her in a situation, specifically in tough times. That gets old really quickly, no matter how beautiful she looks.

The romance can fade over time, but don’t let it. It just takes a little effort to keep the spark alive. Simple stuff like planning a surprise date, cooking his favorite meal, or renting a movie he’s been wanting to see can make a big difference. Also, if you keep doing the things that first attracted him, it shows you really care about keeping him around. That’s definitely wifey material.

Totally, both guys and gals need to be physically into each other to kick off a relationship. But staying attracted to each other is key to keep it going. That said, you don’t have to fit some beauty standard to be considered wifey material. Everyone has their type and what they’re into.

Dependable Character! Guys have always put a high value on a dependable partner, even way back in 1939. Just like women, men want someone they can trust who’s faithful and reliable. They’re looking for a wife who’ll stick with them through thick and thin. With divorce rates being what they are, it’s no wonder that being dependable is still a big deal, and it will continue to be an attractive trait.

Someone friendly and social- When guys are out and about, they want a partner who’s cool to hang out with at events or chill with friends. Men dig a sociable and friendly vibe, not someone who brings negative energy or attitude in social settings, whether it’s with friends, family, or coworkers.

We all know women love a guy with a good sense of humor, but guys feel the same way, too. Men want a woman who can laugh, whether it’s at his jokes or just funny stuff in general. If a guy’s got a great sense of humor, it’s a total buzzkill if the woman is too serious or stiff. Plus, it can cause tension if he’s always joking around, and she gets annoyed because she’s too serious. A good sense of humor always helps!

The past is the past. Please don’t talk about the same thing or problem every time you have a fight with him. Unlike women, men normally forget and do not want to remember their past, especially when they have found the love of their lives.

If you’re upset, talk to him about it. My partner once told me, “I don’t even know why you’re mad at me.” Trust me, I had a good reason to be upset. But I eventually realized that he wasn’t trying to avoid apologizing. Good communication is key. Otherwise, men have no clue what’s going on in women’s heads, and they really don’t like dealing with your angry moods every day. Trust me when they say they aren’t thinking about anything; they are telling the truth; men have this ability not to think about anything.

Never compare him to others. If you truly love him, why would you want him to be like someone else? Celebrate his uniqueness and the qualities that made you fall for him in the first place. Comparing him to others only creates unnecessary pressure and can make him feel inadequate. Embrace him for who he is, and cherish the special bond you both share.

what are you looking for in a relationship?

What do women want from men?

Women want a man who’s emotionally honest and open, not someone who’s distant and closed off. Sure, sharing your feelings might feel weird or awkward at first, but it’s key to building a strong relationship. Women appreciate a guy who’s not afraid to show his vulnerable, emotional, and human side. It’s about being real and discussing your true feelings instead of keeping everything bottled up. This might mean talking about past relationships and sharing bits of your history. Openness and honesty make for a deeper, more meaningful connection.

Traits of Moral Integrity and **Mutual respect** are a must in any relationship. Once respect is lost, it’s hard to recover. Women deserve the same level of respect men give to each other. Feeling disrespected or patronized can quickly lead to the end of a relationship. Even when you’re upset or disappointed with your partner, maintaining respect is crucial.

A Caring Guy is a Hot Guy. If you’ve been scratching your head about it, here’s a key insight: women love a guy who shows he cares. Based on what we know from happy, healthy couples and evolving gender roles, here’s the first secret to keep in mind: women deeply appreciate a man with a sensitive side, especially when they’re feeling down. Simple gestures like putting your arm around her and handing her a tissue can mean the world. Being nurturing and attentive isn’t just sweet; it’s a great and powerful way to build a connection which is deep and meaningful.

When it comes to romance, many women appreciate a touch of classic chivalry. Even though women are fully capable of pulling out their chairs or opening a door, a bit of old-fashioned courtesy can make a big difference. Traditional gestures of kindness like holding the door open or offering your arm can really stand out. If you notice a moment where she hesitates, she is hoping you’ll step in as the charming gentleman. It’s these little acts of chivalry that can make your romantic efforts feel more special. I am telling you, you can unquestioningly trust this one: Chivalry Never Ever Goes Out of Style.

Taking responsibility for your actions and behavior is vital. Long-term relationships require maturity. Without it, disagreements can spiral into the blame game, leading to failed communication and emotional damage that’s tough to fix. Women really look for reliability in men; they are mostly tired of being a girl boss all day, proving to everyone that they are tough, equal, and deserve the same stature in society. In contrast, with their partners, women look for someone reliable who doesn’t take their femininity as their weakness. They trust you to give them the princess treatment when you are with them because, at the end of the day, they also need to relax.

Women need men who are kind, patient, understanding, empathetic, and compassionate. In any relationship, men need to be mindful of their partner’s feelings. Understand that what your partner is going through matters to her, and your role is to cherish and support her. This means taking the time to really listen, showing patience when things are tough, and being there with empathy and understanding. Nodding is not enough!!  When you are considerate and caring towards your woman, the relationship becomes a safe and loving space for her. Relational Sensitivity is a very attractive trait in a man, and it is very important for a woman.

If you’re already showing the traits we’ve talked about, you’re likely on the right track with maturity. It’s about more than just handling emotions well; it’s also about showing you can be level-headed and responsible when needed. This means thinking things through calmly, avoiding unnecessary drama, and working together to solve problems after a thoughtful discussion. It’s also important to remember that being mature doesn’t mean you can’t have fun or be playful. Letting your playful side come out can actually be a sign of maturity, as it shows you’re comfortable enough to be vulnerable and relaxed with her.

Men often ask what women want from men. Well, among other things, men need to understand that date No. 3 Isn’t a Green Light for the Bedroom; forget the old myth that says you need to wait until the third date before sex. That’s just a story people like to tell. There’s no set rule for when a woman decides to take things to the next level. Some might want several dates before getting intimate, while others might be ready sooner.

A smart approach is to let the relationship develop naturally over a couple of months before diving into the bedroom. Iin addition to this, men should talk about what a woman wants in bed?  It’s about building a real connection and making sure both of you are on the same page.

The Power of Compliments- Saying It Again and Again Matters: women love hearing that they look great, and it means a lot when a guy notices the little things. When she’s rocking a new dress or sporting a fresh haircut, she’ll appreciate it even more if you mention it before she has to point it out. Compliments like these aren’t just about flattery; they show you’re paying attention and truly appreciate her efforts. So, don’t be shy about telling her how stunning she looks, whether she’s dressed to the nines or just feeling good about herself.

Be proactive and passionate, and build chemistry with her. Do not give logical explanations when not required. She knows what she is doing and what is the right thing to do, but they only look at you as a friend they can rant in front of, who will not bore them with being logical, making her look like she doesn’t know better! Be a Best friend to her; a good rant takes the stress out of a woman.

Ironic that it is almost similar, still different in its own way, to what men and women want in a relationship!!! And as a bonus tip, ladies next time when a guy asks what do you want from me? Just show them this article & take from sip of your margarita.
